Day 3

Good day overall, walked with Gary from Germany and Laios form Hungary.  Both speak little or no english but hey are both walking at my slow speed and we are getting the job done.  The 3  of plus the 2  fellows from spain (in the previous picture) seem to be on the same pace, all about the same speed and age so makes me pretty comfortable with my speed or lack there of. Tomorrow's forecast is our first change of conditions so will be an interesting first day of sorts planing for a rain day.

Official first day on the Camino

Well here it is day one and wouldn't you know it it's an official holiday here in pomplona and everything is closed. So no luck updating the SIM card and updating the phone. But I did check into the first hostil in the first city on the way on the Camino , got a good shower and resting now for my first hard day tomorrow . Kath will have a big I told you so because my pack is pretty heavy and I'm seriously looking at lightning the load so we'll see what happens after a couple days of hard walking. So far the weather is great the people are as warm and friendly as I remember I'm looking for the good nights sleep tonight after the rough 17 hours of nonstop travelong.
